Helping to build a more compassionate and inclusive workplace

CPFT recently launched its Compassion in Action Programme at an event at the Resource Centre in Fulbourn.

The programme is available for all staff to learn more about equality, diversity, inclusion, respect and self-compassion.

The keynote speaker was Claudia Iton, Chief People Officer for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Integrated Care Board, who talked about the importance of compassion for colleagues, patients and their families.

There were also presentations from Stephen Legood, Director of People and Organisational Development; Sharon Gilfoyle, Associate Director of Inclusion; and Maggie Smith, L&OD Practitioner.

The event included a range of market stalls and performances from Nadya Galbraith and music therapist Sreeraj KollaruKandy. Tesco's kindly donated some of the refreshments.

Neema Young, Leadership and Organisational Development Practitioner (EDI Lead), whose post has been part funded by Head to Toe Charity, has led on the development of the programme.

She said: “Compassion in Action is for all staff and at all levels. It builds on the Trust’s ambition to build a more compassionate and inclusive workplace by improving self-awareness, emotional intelligence and the confidence to better support colleagues and manage teams. It was great to see so many people at the launch event and I’m urging as many staff as possible to sign up."
