Phoenix

Our treatment pathway

The Phoenix Centre is a specialist unit for the treatment of eating disorders. We have a comprehensive treatment programme which we expect young people and their families will take part in. This is because family involvement is the best evidence-based treatment, currently available, for the treatment of adolescents with anorexia nervosa.

Guidelines for the treatment of anorexia nervosa in young people under the age of 18 (produced by NICE - the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence), strongly recommended that families, particularly parents/carers, should be involved in discussions that focus on the eating disorder and how best to manage it.

At the Phoenix Centre we do this in a variety of different ways.
