Young people cook up a treat on special CCPNR course

We are thrilled to share that we recently funded a fantastic project for the Cambridge Centre for Paediatric Neuropsychological Rehabilitation (CCPNR). This specialist community service supports children and young people with acquired brain injury and their families.

The CCPNR team reached out to us to fund a two-day cooking group for the young people in their care. The aim of the project was to support the development of problem-solving and cognitive strategies. The group planned a menu, learned how to cook, and served the food in a commercial kitchen setup. We were able to use the training kitchens at Cambridge Regional College, where the catering lecturers instructed and advised our young people.

The event culminated with the young people serving the food they had prepared in a restaurant setting. A special thank you to Mike Knapton and Karen Daber, two of our Non-Executive Directors at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust, who enjoyed the wonderful three-course meal that was served. We also extend our gratitude to Irwin Mitchell, solicitors, for sponsoring the event.

We are so proud of the young people and the CCPNR team for making this project a success!
