Ruth's Chief Nursing Officer award

Congratulations go to Pastoral Educator Ruth Bamforth who was presented with the Chief Nursing Officer Award this week.

Ruth received her certificate from Annalise Franklin, East of England Workforce Programme Manager, at a special Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) celebration event at Newtown Centre, Huntingdon, on Monday.

The CNO Award award recognises HCSWs who consistently demonstrate the NHS values and behaviours when fulfilling their everyday roles to provide excellent patient care; and inspiration to their colleagues and the patients they care for.

Annalise read out at the event: "Ruth has supported HCSWs struggling with learning needs, developing, and educating the candidates around the care certificate standards and ensuring they are able to achieve the theory underpinning them. She often works under pressure and with complex situations respecting and maintaining the importance of dignity and confidentiality, often encouraging Healthcare Support Workers to be role models and advocating for patient-centred care."
