PRIDE Awards: Trust staff praised for support for patients, relatives, and fellow colleagues
Trust CEO Steve Grange and Deputy Chair Karen Daber have praised the work of staff at special ceremonies which recognise their work.
The PRIDE Awards are given to colleagues whose work reflects the organisations values of Professionalism, Respect, Innovation, Dignity and Empowerment.
Nominations made by patients, relatives, and fellow colleagues led to close to 80 colleagues and teams being recognised.
Their submissions were read aloud before Steve and Karen presented them with their certificates and badges.
The ceremonies, one in the morning and one in the afternoon and hosted by Andy Burrows from the Trust's Communications Team, were held at the Cavell Centre in Peterborough.
Closing the afternoon session, Steve, attending his first PRIDE Awards since taking up his role – alongside Karen who was appointed Deputy Chair last month after four years as a Non-Executive Director - said: “I want to say, from my heart, thank you. Everyone is inspiring in their own way. For organisations like us, it’s a privilege to do what we do.
“The job description is not who we are, it’s what we are – we always bring more to the role than what we are employed for, and it is that diversity that is inspiring. Every day you go to work, every day you have an interaction, you can make someone’s day and give them hope. You can give them that smile; you can give them that moment; that makes them think it will be ok. That is a huge privilege.
“It’s fantastic to have so many incredibly heart warming but also really impactful, powerful stories of which there have been a number I won’t forget. In fact, I will be talking about this for a long time.”
