Networking event for charities, clubs and third-sector organisations is big success

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust played host to a special mental health networking event which attracted people from a huge range of charities, community clubs and third-sector organisations.

Held at the Cavell Centre in Peterborough, it was organised by FENMHAN – the Fenland Mental Health Action Network – and PMAN, the Peterborough Multi Agency Network.

The event, which was also attended by colleagues from a range of CPFT teams, was a chance for representatives of local organisations to come together and share ideas. It was also aimed at service-users so they could find out more about the wide variety of activities on offer in the area to help support their mental and physical health.

Organiser Jack Avison, community engagement coordinator with the Trust’s How Are You team, who is also co-chair of FENHMAN, (pictured below, left) said: “There are many organisations doing fantastic work to support people who have experience of CPFT services, and this way a fantastic way to bring them together.

“Having the networking event at the Cavell Centre meant that anyone who wanted to see our inpatient wards got a short tour, and I’d really like to thank the occupational therapy staff for being able to support that.

“It was also a really good opportunity for patients to engage with different groups and find out about activities that are on offer in their local community. I'd particularly like to thank Creative Fenland, Active Fenland and CPSL Mind for hosting activities that many attendees took part in and for the support of Head to Toe.

“We’ve had some great initial feedback, and I really hope we can do it again in the new year.”
