CPFT's Community Paediatric Team has been awarded the Carer Friendly Tick Award for the second time after being highly praised by assessors.

The team, based at the City Care Centre in Peterborough, was successful in securing the award after being assessed by a panel of carers. The award is a Caring Together accreditation programme that helps health, social care, education professionals and employers identify and support unpaid carers within their settings.

Denise Garner, from the team, said: "We are all so pleased to receive this award for the team again and are all passionate about supporting our service users and staff members. Many of our parent/carers are unaware that they are in fact carers for their children and young people and we as a team recognise this and raise awareness so that help is there for them if needed."

CPFT Service Manager Lucy Brompton said: "The feedback from Caring Together is phenomenal and is testament to the hard work, passion and enthusiasm the clinicians devote to this vital area or work."

In its assessment, Caring Together stated that it was impressed by the team's wellbeing walks; its 'talking toolkit' to help start conversations; the variety of information displayed to ensure it reaches as many people as possible; and the team's holistic approach to be inclusive and looking at different avenues to ensure carers feel included.
