Apple day at Trust’s Darwin Nurseries set to be so a-peel-ing!

Visitors to Darwin Nurseries – the farm shop run by staff and co-workers from Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust – are getting to ready to host their annual apple day.

The event on Tuesday, 29 October, is again expected to attracted hundreds of visitors to the Darwin Nurseries in Quy Water, Newmarket Road, Cambridge.

Darwin Nurseries is regarded as unique within the NHS because it involves colleagues from CPFT working alongside those with learning disabilities and mental health challenges where they learn new skills and independence.

Join manager Sandie Cain and the team between 10am and 3pm, for a brilliant day of family fun day involving apple pressing, a live Ceilidh band, food stalls, craft activities, and face painting. 

Parking on apple day is expected to be limited so visitors are asked to consider arriving by public transport — Newmarket Road is the nearest park and ride - or bike.

Set in 7.5 acres, Darwin Nurseries is open Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to 4.30pm, and Sundays, 10am to 3.30pm.

CPFT, which employs more than 4,500 staff, provides learning disability services, community physical health services for older people and adults with long term conditions, mental health services, and children community services in Peterborough. The Trust is also renowned for its research and development work.
